The Azerbaijani community of the Nagorno-Karabakh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan has made another call on our historical, cultural and religious heritage that has been destroyed in occupied Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, APA informs citing the Community.

The video prepared in the Armenian language for the Armenian community parallels the condition of the Armenian church in Baku and the historical and cultural monuments in the occupied Azerbaijani territories.

It was emphasized that in accordance with the decision of Azerbaijani government, the Armenian Church is included in the list of Historical Monuments of Azerbaijan but Azerbaijani religious monuments are destroyed in the occupied territories.

“Unfortunately, after Azerbaijani government has taken such a step, Armenia continues to remove the traces of Azerbaijani people, destroy and alter our historical and cultural heritage including monuments, mosques and cemeteries in the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region and surrounding areas. Armenia even altered the architecture of Russian Orthodox Church built in the 19th century for Russian servicemen in Shusha presenting it as the Armenian church. The cultural heritage of other minorities, including Armenians, is always respected and preserved in Azerbaijan. Multiculturalism and tolerance which always existed in Azerbaijan for centuries, has become a way of life for our people. We believe that after the return to our lands we will restore the destroyed historical and cultural monuments,” was stated in the video.
