Azerbaijani Community of the Nagorno Karabakh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan has sent a protest letter to the Australian government and legislative body regarding visits of “members” of illegal separatist regime of the occupied Nagorno Karabakh region to Australia and meetings held within the visit with some Australian officials, APA reports citing the Community.

It is stated in the letter that visit of the so-called regime members to Australia is directly contrary to the official position of the Australian government: “Australian government stated their support to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and its position is not changeable. We note that as a result of Armenia’s military aggression to Azerbaijan ethnic cleansing has been carried out in Nagorno-Karabakh and hundreds of thousands of our compatriots have displaced from their lands. Today Armenian Diaspora promotes so-called regime in Australia and tries to legitimize results of the occupation. In such a situation we, as an Azerbaijani community of the Nagorno-Karabakh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan, consider unacceptable some Australian official’s “friendly attitude” towards members of the so-called regime.”
