There has been a court verdict against Armenian scout Arsen Bagdasaryan, who is being held in Azerbaijan, and he was arrested for a crime he committed on the contact line of troops, Eldar Samadov, deputy head of the working group of Azerbaijan's State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, said Tuesday, APA reported.

He outlined that Bagdasaryan is not considered a prisoner of war.

“He has been imprisoned in accordance with Azerbaijan’s laws for a crime he committed,” added Samadov.

As regards another Armenian Zaver Karapetyan, who is being held in Azerbaijan, Samadov said that appropriate work is underway with international organizations.

“His detention meets international standards. In line with the norms of international law, international organizations visit the two at any time they want to. Azerbaijan fulfills its obligations on the Geneva convention, providing all necessary conditions for organizations to pay a visit,” he added.
