The speech by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly represents the highest level of impudence and shamelessness, Ali Hasanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs, said on Thursday.

Hasanov made the remarks at the presentation of a book and a film dedicated to the village of Jojug Marjanli, which was liberated from Armenian occupation, APA reported.

He noted that Sargsyan’s speech exposed the criminal ruling regime of Armenia, which for 25 years has been keeping Azerbaijani lands under occupation.

“Sargsyan showed his impoliteness. The Armenian president was hesitating during his speech. However, President Ilham Aliyev was proud during his speech at the UN General Assembly,” Hasanov noted.

“The Azerbaijani mentioned the work carried out in our country over the past 25 years. Nobody left the hall while our head of state was speaking. At the end of the Azerbaijani president’s speech, a member of the Armenian delegation removed his glasses and hit them on the table. It was the result of the Azerbaijani president’s successful speech and Sargsyan's self-exposure. The way the Armenian delegation member reacted was the proof of it,” he added.

The deputy prime minister said that the peoples of Azerbaijan and Armenia are tired of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

"If the Armenian people want peace, they should get rid of the Sargsyan-Kocharyan regime because these two persons came to power by shedding the blood of the Azerbaijani people in those lands. The Armenian people should rid themselves of this regime in order to live in peace, establish normal power, and bring a normal Armenian to power,” Hasanov said.
