The battles that lasted from April 1st to 4th last year has gained the Azerbaijani army its greatest victory ever since the country became independent, Ali Hasanov, Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister and chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDP, said during his trip to the Jojug Marjanli village of the country’s Jabrayil district, APA reported.
On January 24, 2017, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on measures to restore the Jabrayil District’s Jojug Marjanli village, liberated from the Armenian occupation.
The State Committee of Azerbaijan for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs received 4 million manats from the Presidential Reserve Fund for 2017 for construction of 50 houses, a school building and the relevant infrastructure at the first stage, according to the order.
Hasanov outlined that the victory was gained under the leadership of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
“It’s been a year now. Every year, we commemorate the occupation of our districts, which serves our ideological purpose of telling the world that our lands are under occupation,” said the deputy PM. “On the other hand, our people were experiencing a sense of sadness when they were commemorating the days of occupation. Today, we no longer commemorate the days of occupation. Right now, we’re in the territory of a liberated village.”
Hasanov stressed that right after the village became available for dwelling, the Azerbaijani president signed an order on the reconstruction of the village, which began to be carried out instantly.
“In the current phase, 50 houses and one school are under construction. At the same time, the construction of a new mosque analogous to the Shusha Mosque is underway in Jojug Marjanli,” he added.
The deputy PM noted that the construction work in Jojug Marjanli, which is considered to be ‘the first swallow of return’, is being carried out under the president’s personal supervision.
“The head of state is regularly informed about the construction process in the village,” said Hasanov, pointing out that the restoration of Jojug Marjanli has filled the Azerbaijani people with enthusiasm.
“Jojug Marjanli is spoken about all over Azerbaijan. Jojug Marjanli is uttered all over the world. It is a concrete result of Azerbaijani president's policy that the restoration of liberated village caused a resonance all over the world,” he added.
