Moscow says welcomes any constructive meeting between Azerbaijan, Armenia

Moscow welcomes any constructive meeting between Azerbaijan and Armenia, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, who is on a visit to Baku, APA reports.

 

Russia acts as a mediator in talks on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Zakharova said, noting that this issue was also discussed at today’s consultations in Baku.

 

“Russia is well aware of this issue. Meetings are held at various levels. We support meetings that produce positive results,” she added.  

 

Consultations between the Azerbaijani and Russian foreign ministries on the topic of information support of foreign policy kicked off in Baku on July 27.

 

Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman Hikmat Hajiyev and his Russian counterpart Maria Zakharova are attending the consultations.
