Turkey and Azerbaijan cooperate on regional issues and counterterrorism, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim told reporters in Baku on March 15, APA reports.

He noted that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is Azerbaijan’s just cause.

“Twenty percent of Azerbaijani territories were occupied, more than one million people became refugees and IDPs. Turkey stands by Azerbaijan in the Karabakh issue. Armenia committed an act of genocide in Azerbaijan. Sooner of later, Azerbaijan will achieve its goal. The international community recognizes Azerbaijan’s right position on the Karabakh issue. Any threat to Azerbaijan will be definitely responded to,” the Turkish PM said.

Asked about the visit of Karabakh separatist’s leader Bako Sahakyan to Washington, Yildirim replied: “US senators, instead of receiving rewards from Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh, should react to crimes against humanity committed by them.”
