“Although it is a positive thing that Armenia accepts our proposals based on international legal norms and principles, there are no concrete steps yet. Azerbaijani, and Armenian FMs will meet tomorrow. It will be the first meeting between the ministers and we hope that this meeting will yield results. Because I have several meetings with the Armenian PM, Azerbiajni and Armenian representatives met. However, there was no bilateral meeting between Foreign Ministers, it is the first meeting. But, the issues to be discussed are already on the table. I consider that a good outcome of this meeting may be that the Armenian side forms its own working group.,” said Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev at the meeting on the results of 6 months of this year, APA reports.
“Emphasizing that the Azerbaijani side has already formed its own working group for the preparation of the peace agreement, the head of state noted: “Members, and members to be represented in the group have been determined. Armenian side has not taken such a step yet. I consider that this can be a good result and other issues may be discussed,” said Azerbaijani President.
Athough a year and 8 months passed since the war, noting that there is no other positive point, President Ilham Aliyev stated: “Unfortunately, there are more negative points. One of them is Armenia's refusal to address the issues identified in the Declaration signed on November 10, 2020. The Declaration of November 10 is actually an act of capitulation of Armenia, and as the defeated party in the war, Armenia undertook obligations. These obligations are clearly pointed there. One of them is the withdrawal of Armenian armed forces from Karabakh. This issue has not been solved so far. We had raised issue several times, however, Armenia prolongs it. At the same time, we raised this issue before the military leadership of Russia, and a few months ago, while visiting Azerbaijan, a high-ranking official of the Russian Defense Ministry promised our Defense Ministry that the Armenian armed forces would be withdrawn from Karabakh by June. However, today is mid-July, and this issue has not been solved. Armenia, contradicting with Declaration dated November 10, does not fulfill this obligation. Russian peacekeepers- Russian side also signed November 10 declaration- how to say, they are not forcing them to it. Of course it is an unbearable situation. Because it is completely unacceptable;e that Armenian armed forces stay in Azerbaijani territory.”
