The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev addressed the participants of the international conference on the topic "Mine Action - The Path to Reaching the Sustainable Development Goals" held in Baku, APA reports.
The address was read by the Assistant to the Azerbaijani President, Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev.
In his address, the President said that the topic of the conference is of special importance for Azerbaijan and humanity.
In his address, the President said that as a result of nearly 30 years of occupation by Armenia, Azerbaijan is among the countries most polluted by mines.
In the address of the President of Azerbaijan, it was noted that demining of the liberated territories from mines is one of the main priorities of the government.
