During a one-on-one meeting with EU Council President Charles Michel in Brussels today, President Ilham Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan had presented five principles based on international law to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and sign a peace agreement, APA reports.

The President of Azerbaijan stressed that these principles played a key role in the preparation of the peace agreement.

The head of state expressed hope that the process of drafting a peace agreement between the two countries would be accelerated.

President Ilham Aliyev reiterated that in accordance with the results of the meeting between Azerbaijan, Armenia and the European Union on April 6 this year, Azerbaijan has determined the composition of the Working Group, as well as the composition of the National Commission on Border Delimitation, to begin negotiations on a peace agreement in late April and is ready to negotiate.
