"Strengthening the potential of our national information resources and their position in the global information network has been one of the main tasks in the current era when communication tools are undergoing a transformation phase, digital platforms and social media tools are expanding their scope," noted in the address of President Ilham Aliyev to Azerbaijan's media representatives, APA reports.
The head of state said that the reforms carried out in recent years have included improving the legal framework pertaining to media activity, strengthening their economic foundations, improving the social security of journalists, implementing the state's communication policy in accordance with the requirements of the modern era, increasing flexibility and professionalism of journalism, eliminating negative manifestations disturbing society, expanding the international relations of the media and creating joint platforms with friendly countries. And significant progress has been achieved in these areas.
