At the XV European Youth Summer Olympic Festival winners of wrestling competitions in 11 weight categories were determined, APA reports.

At the first day of the competition, the owners of the medals were determined in four, and on the second day - in seven weight categories.

The wrestlers who won the first day of the festival 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals won the second day of the competition 2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medals.

On July 21, our Greco-Roman wrestlers Murad Sadykhly (45 kg) won the gold, and Nihad Mammadov (55 kg) bronze medals. Freestyle wrestlers Murad Hagverdiyev (45 kg) won gold and Abulfas Nasirov (55 kg) silver medals.

Our Greco-Roman style wrestler Gurban Gurbanov (48 kg) entered the third gold medal in the asset of Azerbaijan. In the fight for first place, he defeated Georgian Khvicha Abuladze.

Another of our Greco-Roman wrestler Hasrat Jafarov (60 kg) also rose to the highest step of the podium. Having won the final in the Russian Magomed Gigiyev, he became the champion of the festival.

Our wrestler Sabir Jafarov (60 kg) lost in the final to Russian Fyodor Baltuev and won the silver medal.

Our other wrestler Mirjavad Nabiyev (48 kg), in the fight for the third place, won the representative of Switzerland Thomas Fischer with a big advantage and won a bronze medal.

In the competition of wrestling women Gultekin Shirinova (46 kg) lost in the final to the Romanian Georgiana-Lavinia Antuku and was awarded a bronze medal.

A member of our team Marziya Sadikhova (61 kg) won the silver medal. She lost in the final meeting of the Italian Aurora Russo.

Wrestling competitions will end on July 23.
