Warsaw and Baku Stock Exchanges ink a deal for cooperation

On May 15, 2007, Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) and Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) signed a memorandum for long-term cooperation.
This event followed a meeting held between Mr. Khayal Abdinov, the BSE Board Chairman and Mr. Ludwik Sobolewski, the WSE President in Baku city on March 30th, 2007. Mr. Sobolewski visited Baku within the official delegation headed by Mr. Lekh Kachinsky, the President of Poland.
According to the document signed, the parties will be cooperating in the sphere of information and experience exchange to develop and integrate their stock markets.
It should be noted that Warsaw Stock Exchange is one of the largest stock exchanges in the Central and Eastern European region. As of June 5, 2007, 298 companies including 14 foreign corporations are listed on WSE. The total turnover of WSE exceeds USD 300 bn. from the beginning of the year. /APA-Economics/
