Azerboru achieves monthly capacity of 3,000 tons of pipes

Azerboru, the state-run pipe maker of Azerbaijan, has achieved the capacity of 3,000 tons of pipes monthly.
The company chair Azim Azimov told APA-Economics that the finished products exported 90% to Russia, Kazakhstan and Iran.
“For the first time we have started to produce 219mm pipes. The throughput design capacity of the plant is 8,000 tons of pipes monthly but we have a limited market. We don’t receive many orders in Azerbaijan. Only 10% of products are sold on the domestic market. The quality of our products beats Ukrainian and Russian-made ones,†he noted.
Azim Azimov said the target is to produce 30,000 tons of pipes by the year-end.
Azerboru employs 1,300 people. Since October, 2006 around $3 million has been invested in the company. /APA-Economics/
