Coronavirus cases in Ukraine reach 11 411

The number of officially confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ukraine has reached 11,411 as of 9:00 a.m. on May 2, according to Ukraine’s health ministry, APA reports Kyiv Post.

In total, 279 people have died from the disease in Ukraine and 1,498 patients have recovered.

In the past 24 hours, Ukraine has identified 550 new COVID-19 cases.

As of May 2, the largest number of coronavirus cases in Ukraine has been registered in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast (2,241 cases), Chernivtsi Oblast (1,745 cases), Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (942 cases), Ternopil Oblast (823 cases), Rivne Oblast (689 cases), Zakarpattia Oblast (496 cases), Lviv Oblast (465 cases), and Vinnytsia Oblast (427 cases.)

Among the confirmed cases, there are 771 children and 2,250 medical workers, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said at a briefing on May 2.

In the past 24 hours, Ukrainian laboratories have administered 5,399 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests.
