Priorities of Albania during OSCE chairmanship revealed

Albania will take over the OSCE Chair from Slovakia on 1 January 2020 for a year, APA reports.

Delivering a speech at the 26th meeting of the OSCE Council of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Albania Gent Cakaj stated that efforts should be continued in the direction to strengthen peace, stability and democracy in the OSCE region.

“We should raise the values regarding territorial integrity, sovereignty, integration, human rights in order to create stability, peace, and security in Europe. Preventing conflict or finding their resolution, as well as, monitoring of elections is a unique feature that Albania will use it during its chairmanship in order to bring peoples closer. On the other hand, stability through dialogue is also important. Today the security concerns are on the rise and we should double our efforts to build bridges,” Albanian FM stated.
