Holding the new trilateral meeting with the participation of the Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, and chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Board (CMB) Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh in order to normalize relations on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border is not on the agenda, said Head of the international relations department of the Armenian Apostolic Church Shage Ananyan, APA reports citing the Sputnik Armenia.

He reminded that Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk noted in his previous statement that the Russian Orthodox Church is ready to continue its efforts for restoration of the negotiations between Azerbaijani and Armenian religious leaders.

“Such a meeting is not planned yet, however, in case any updates or if there is an opportunity to hold a meeting, the Armenian church is always ready to attend,” he added.

He stressed that such a tripartite meeting format exists for many years and of course, this meeting is organized on the basis of the invitation of Moscow and Patriarch Kirill of All Russia: “If such a necessity arises, the Armenian Church will agree to a meeting with Allahshukur Pashazade.”

Remind that in October 2021, a meeting between Garegin II and Allahshukur Pashazade in the presence of Patriarch Kirill was held in Danilov Monastery.
