“At a time when new realities are prevailing in the region, the post-war period, Iran's military exercises on its borders with Azerbaijan are viewed unequivocally negatively by Azerbaijani society,” reads the statement of CMO, APA reports.
The statement stresses that Azerbaijan is an integral part of the Islamic world, it is an Islamic land, and thousands of Azerbaijani Muslims were martyred to liberate these lands: “Iran called these martyrs as Islamic martyrs, now does it suit the Muslim country to acquit those who killed those who sacrificed their lives for the right path? If the Iranian state promises weapons and military aid to a party whose hands are stained with Muslim blood, threatening its Muslim brother, and equates the security of Armenia with the security of Iran, this is a practical step in the direction of emboldening Armenia to fight again, rooting for revanchism, and is a direct threat to the state interests of Azerbaijan and our people. If Iran- sounding threats regarding corridor road which will pass through historical Azerbaijani land- Zangazur, opens a consulate in Gafan, in such a complicated period, declares its readiness for the opening of Armenia’s Consulate General in Tabriz, it can not absolutely be assessed as a step of friend, brother. This is not suitable for the Islamic ideology, it is a backstabbing of a Muslim against his Muslim brother.”
