Conference on Islamophobia in Baku ended

Baku International Center for Multiculturalism (BBMM), Center for Analysis of International Relations (ICAR) and G20 Forum for Interreligious Dialogue concluded the international conference on "Islamophobia as a Specific Form of Racism and Discrimination: New Global and Transnational Challenges" dedicated to the International Day of Combating Islamophobia concluded its work, APA reports.

The main goal of the two-day conference is to establish an academic platform in order to discuss the alarming trends targeting Muslims and Muslim-majority countries at the international and national levels.

Scientists, experts of international organizations, religious figures and representatives of non-governmental organizations of a total 32 countries have participated at the conference, different approaches in fighting against islamophobia, manifestation of islamophobia in some countries of Europe, islamophobia in the global media were discussed.

In 2022 General assembly of the United Nations announced March 15 as the International Day of Combating Islamophobia. Note that, March 15, the International Day to Combat Islamophobia was announced for the first time on November 27-28, At the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Niamey, Republic of Niger.
