National final concert on selection of representative of Azerbaijan in Eurovision-2010 kicks off - PHOTO
3 candidates - Safura Alizadeh, Maryam Shabanova, Milk&Kisses group will struggle for the participation of Azerbaijan at the 55th Eurovision Song Contest. Each of them will perform 3 songs. One of these songs will be the song to be performed at Eurovision. 5 songs written by foreign composers will also be performed – “Cancelledâ€, “Don’t let the morning comeâ€, “Drip dropâ€, “Soulless†and “Under my skinâ€.
The composers of the songs will be known during this night. Dakota from Fabrika zvezd (Russia) and Georgian representative to Eurovision 2010 Sofo Nijaradze will attend the concert.
Our representative and song to be performed will be selected by the members of jury- Azerbaijan Public Television General director Ismayil Omerov, rector of Baku’s Music Academy Farhad Badalbayli, director of Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall Murad Adigozelzadeh, president of national music committee of International Music Council (IMC) Lale Kazimova, conductor Azad Aliyev, Culture and Tourism Ministry’s representative Manzar Nureliyeva, as well as representative of Ministry of Youth and Sport Farhad Hajiyev.
National final concert will be broadcasted by Azerbaijan Public Television-National transmission council of Azerbaijan under“Eurovision†contest, as well as TRT Turkish and Georgia Public Television.
Note that, 3 qualifiers were selected from 6 candidates at the national semi-final on February 2. This year audience voting has been used neither at national semi-final nor at national final.
Note that, Azerbaijan will struggle in the semifinal concert of the 55th Eurovision song concert for the final to be held on May 27 of this year.
