115 Cuban medical specialists on COVID-19 arrive in Azerbaijan

Another group of specialists, working in the field of fight against novel coronavirus, has arrived in Azerbaijan, in accordance with the instruction of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers, APA reports.
115 Cuban medical specialists, working in the COVID-19 field, have arrived in Azerbaijan on July 13. Cuban specialists have come within the framework of measures, aimed at the prevention of widespread COVID-19 infection.
The extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Cuba to Azerbaijan Alfredo Nieves Portuondo noted in his interview with journalists the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Cuba. He said at the present time, Cuba doesn’t spare its support to Azerbaijan whom it considers a brotherly country. Therefore, the large medical delegation has arrived in Azerbaijan from Cuba. This step is, at the same time, an indicator of solidarity.
The head of the doctors’ brigade arrived from Cuba Deysi Torres Avela stressed that the brigade will share Cuba’s experience in the fight against the pandemic. He also added that this travel carried out to Azerbaijan is an indicator of humanism. He emphasized that the Cuban medical workers together with their Azerbaijani colleagues will jointly wage fight against COVID-19.
The head of the International relations and protocol department of the Administration of Regional Medical Divisions (TABIB) Ramin Aghayev said the large delegation consisting of medical workers of the Cuban Republic has been involved in the implementation of measures against the pandemic in Azerbaijan by invitation of the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers. This delegation will, stay in Azerbaijan for a period of 3 months.
Note that in total, Cuba’s medical specialists are providing support to the fight against pandemic in over 20 countries of the world.
