24 Azerbaijani children who lost their parents at conflict zone have been returned

24 kids who were in the conflict zone and lost their parents have been returned to date. At least, 270 Azerbaijani children who lost one of their parents are at detention center in Syria and Iraq, according to the final report entitled ''Research on Determining Sensitivity and Resistance to Radicalization in Selected Communities in Azerbaijan ''

According to the report, children, returned from conflict zones, who were directly involved in war or subjected to traumatic experiences, need to socialize with advice, as well as, special care that covers emotional and ideological issues. There is need to establish rehabilitation centers for former warriors and their family members to facilitate reintegration of returnees.

Note that the report has been prepared with the financial support of United States Agency for International Development (USAID) within the framework of the joint project “Strengthening the resilience of vulnerable communities” implemented by United Nations Migration Agency International Organization for Migration (IOM) with the State Committee on Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
