500 fish perished as Armenia contaminated Okhchuchay River

Perish of more than 500 trouts and other kinds of fish has been detected during next monitoring on Okhchuchay passing through the territory of Zangilan district in order to assess the ecological condition of territories, liberated from occupation, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told APA.

It has been found out that amount of heavy metals such as copper, molybdenum, manganese, iron, zinc, chromium, etc. is higher than normal for times in water examples taken from the river.

Results of monitoring and analysis, as well as the fact of mass perish of fish in the river confirm contamination of the river with toxic wastes of Kajaran Copper-Molybdenum Plant and Kafan Copper-Ore Processing Plant in the territory of Armenia once more.
