ADB allocated to Azerbaijan technical aid amounting to $ 455 thousand for reduction of negative impact of pandemic

On September 24, the reporting event dedicated to results of the technical aid project entitled as “Regional support for the purpose of reduction of the negative impact of COVID-19 novel coronavirus pandemic, as well as potential pandemics of other infectious diseases” at the New Clinic health institution by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) together with the State Agency for Mandatory Medical Insurance, the Agency told APA.

The event was attended by the deputy chairman of the Agency’s Management Board Nigar Bayramova, head of ADB’s permanent representation in Azerbaijan Nariman Mannapbekov, representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Opening the event, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Agency noted that there is a need for interaction and cooperation between the countries to carry out measures to fight the coronavirus pandemic:” In this field, participating as the main development partner for Asia and Pacific region countries the attendance of ADB is of special importance. So far, ADB has attended financing several regional projects realized by the initiation of Azerbaijan. As the next example of cooperation and support technical assistance in the amount of USD 455 thousand has been allocated to our country within the framework of the mentioned project by ADB Permanent Representation in Azerbaijan. This assistance includes individual protective means for medical workers, as well as protective clothes, N95 masks, protective glasses and other medical equipment.”

N. Bayramova expressed her gratitude to the leadership of ADB Permanent Representation in Azerbaijan for sent technical assistance and support.
