Ambassador clarifies restrictions imposed on Turkey-Nakhchivan border amid coronavirus threat

Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral has commented on the restriction imposed at the Dilucu checkpoint on the border of Turkey with Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the Ambassador stated in answer to the query APA.

The restrictions came into force at about 5 pm on February 23.

E. Ozoral stated that some measurements were taken at Dilucu border checkpoint due to to the danger of coronavirus in Iran: “We will provide necessary information to the official organizations of Azerbaijan regarding these measures. Turkish officials contact Azerbaijani counterparts and hold discussion. We will do our best to ensure that Nakhchivan is not in a difficult situation”

Ambassador stated that the measures regarding the restrictions on Dilucu border checkpoint has just begun implemented: “Today, it will be clear what those measures will be.”
