Assistant to the President: "The vaccine enough to 40% of the population will be purchased and this will be enough for us”

"We have an agreement to vaccinate 20 percent of the population - 10 percent + 10 percent - on the COVAX multilateral platform. This covers 2 million people. 4 million doses will be purchased from Sinovac for 2 million people” said said assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Department of Economic Affairs and Innovative Development Policy of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahmar Movsumov at the briefing of the task Force under the cabinet of Ministers in response to the question of why at least 60 percent of the population is not ordered a vaccine , APA reports.

S.Movsumov noted that so up to 40 percent of the population will be vaccinated: “At the same time, those, who infected and recovered, are not vaccinated, because they already have immunity. There will be people who infected and recovered next months. That is why, we consider that the purchased vaccine will be enough for us”

Note that according to the experience of the world, in order to be successful in fighting against virus, at least 60 percent of the population must be immune.
