Azerbaijan's MIA discloses how access to Baku, Sumgayit, Lankaran, Ganja and Absheron to be regulated

Taking into account the sanitary-epidemiological situation in Azerbaijan with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, the total number of infections in the country and the dynamics of recovery of patients, the decision has been made to ease a number of other restrictions imposed under the special quarantine regime starting from 00:00, May 18, 2020, APA reports.

The system of leaving the place of residence on the basis of an SMS permit, registration on the “icaze.e-gov.az” portal, service card or certificate of employment is abolished in Azerbaijan from 00:00, 0n May 18, 2020. However, restriction on access to Baku, Sumgayit and the Absheron district, as well as Ganja and Lankaran cities, and from other cities and districts of the country by land and air with the exception of special purpose vehicles, including ambulances, emergency response, rescue, as well as trucks, suspension of passenger transportation remains in place.

A spokesman for the Interior Ministry Ehsan Zahidov told APA that the employees of the state agencies, who need to leave Baku, Sumgayit, Absheron, Ganja, and Lankaran, and go to other regions, should submit the received the travel documents and other documents given to them by the state body. "That is, if someone is going on a business trip, must have a business document and it must include the purpose of visit"
