Azerbaijan exempts coronavirus vaccines from taxes - UPDATED

Coronavirus vaccines will be tax-exempt, this is reflected in the proposed amendments to the Tax Code, which will be discussed in the first reading at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis, APA reports.

The draft law was put to a vote and adopted in the first reading.

Coronavirus vaccines will be tax-exempt, this is reflected in the proposed amendments to the Tax Code, which will be discussed in the first reading at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis, APA reports.

According to the amendment, from January 1, 2021, the import of vaccines against novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and syringes for these vaccines will not be subject to VAT for a period of 2 years, based on the approval document of the relevant executive authority.

According to the amendment proposed on the draft law, from January 1, 2021, VAT will not be charged on the import of equipment and large materials within the framework of projects for the reconstruction of large oil refineries(that annual crude oil refining capacity is not less than 3 million tons) on the basis of the approval document of the body (organization) determined by the relevant executive authority for two years.
