Azerbaijan to increase fines for not wearing face masks

Fines for violations of the anti-epidemic regime, sanitary-hygienic, and quarantine regimes are increased in Azerbaijan, APA reports.

This issue has been outlined in the amendment to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which will be brought up for discussion during a meeting of the Azerbaijani parliament on December 18.

Currently, individuals are fined from 200 to 400 manats for violation of the anti-epidemic, sanitary-hygienic and quarantine regimes, officials from 3,000 to 4,000 manats, taking into account the nature of the violation and the personality of the person who committed the offense, an administrative arrest is applied for a period of up to 1 month, legal entities are fined in the amount of 4,000 to 10,000 manats.

According to the proposed amendment, for violation of anti-epidemic, sanitary-hygienic, and quarantine regimes, officials are proposed to be fined in the amount of 4,000 to 5,000 manats, taking into account the nature of the violation and the personality of the one who committed the misconduct, to apply administrative arrest for up to 1 month, and to fine legal entities for amount from 5,000 to 11,000 manats.
