Azerbaijani Agency: Antibiotics can’t be used for treatment of coronavirus

The State Agency for Mandatory Medical Insurance has lent clarity to the issue of whether the antibiotics are effective for prophylaxis and treatment of the coronavirus disease, APA reports.

The agency’s message notes that antibiotics are not effective in the treatment of coronavirus: "Antibiotics do not affect virus, they are effective only against bacterial infections. Antibiotics are ineffective, because of COVID 19 is a virus in nature. Antibiotics should not be used in prophylaxis and treatment of coronavirus. They are allowed to use only by the instruction of doctors in the treatment of bacterial infection.”
