BioNTech: US, EU vaccine approval possibly in mid-December

Chief Medical Officer of BioNTech SE Ozlem Tureci stated on Wednesday the vaccine candidate against COVID-19 that the company has been developing with Pfizer Inc. could be approved in the United States and the European Union by mid-December, APA reports citing Teletrader.

The two firms filed for approvals with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the bloc's European Medicines Agency (EMA) at the end of November and earlier this week, respectively.

Earlier in the day, the United Kingdom announced it approved Pfizer and BioNTech's vaccine candidate for an emergency use authorization in that country.
