“We try to follow the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) in all cases. However, we have not included the recommendation of WHO on non-cash payments to recommendation list of Headquarters created under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” said Yagut Garayeva, member of Headquarters created under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Department head of the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (TABIB) while commenting on recommendation of WHO to prefer non-cash payments because of the possibility coronavirus spread through cash exchanges, APA reports.
She stated that microbiological contamination occurs, not only in paper money but also, in general, which object is most often touched by the hands of people: “We have many times repeated that the new type of coronavirus is not very stable in the environment and loses its livelihood on things. Generally, hands should be washed clean after touching either money or other objects. ”
Commenting on the issue, Azerbaijan's chief specialist in infectious diseases Jalal Isayev stated money has not played a role as a source of infection so far and mobile phones, either: “At the same time, there is no possibility of coronavirus infection via money.”
