Chingiz Asgerov comments on whether he continues to act as representative of Azerbaijan in European Court

The authorized representative of Azerbaijan in the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), head of sector of division for work with law enforcement agencies of the Presidential Administration Chingiz Asgerov has commented on sending of the nomination to the Azerbaijani Parliament by President Ilham Aliyev for his appointment to the position of the judge of the Supreme Court.

In response to APA’ question “Can the judge of the Supreme Court serve as the authorized representative of Azerbaijan in the European Court?” Ch. Asgerov said the authorized representative of the Azerbaijan Republic at the European Court of Human Rights is appointed by the President of the Azerbaijan Republic.

Ch. Asgerov noted that the removal of the authorized representative from his position is also within legal authority of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic.
