- 27 January 2021
According to the action plan compiled by the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads on motorways to be reconstructed and overhauled in 2021, complex reconstruction and construction works have been started, the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads told APA.
The new highway going to Keshikchidag State historical and cultural reserve starts from the 38th km of the state border highway of the Agstafa-Poylu-Georgia Republic of local significance. The length of the highway, which was built in accordance with the II technical degree, makes up 32 km.
Within the framework of the project, the width of the roadbed is 15 meters, and the width of the asphalt-concrete pavement is 9 meters.
Currently, the unusable soil is excavated along the road and instead of it, a new roadbed is being built with pouring useful gravel material and conducting sealing work. Besides that, work is conducted in order to raise the soil layer in the parts of the road below the relief, and the roadbed is widened by cutting the rock-type rocks in certain parts with a mechanism.
In parallel with this work, the work on the installation of new water pipes in order to transmit water under the road, as well as the construction of other artificial installations is being carried out.
