Decrease observed in dynamics of dissolution of marriage

“In recent times, divorce has become commonplace,” said Reyhana Karimova, head of the Civil Registry Office during a live discussion organized by the Ministry of Justice, APA reports.

She said that increase in dynamic of divorce concerns Ministry of Justice too: “We have started to take preventive measures in this regard. We have looked at international experiences. In this regard, we have appealed to psychologists in connection with civil society. We have involved psychologists in registration departments. Each person who appeals to registration departments for divorce is suggested to meet with a psychologist. After that some citizens have refused to dissolve the marriage. It is carried out completely free of charge.”

According to her, it is the first time decrease in dynamics of dissolution of marriage is being observed since 2019 until today: “If we have received 1 538 applications from 2019, 1 264 of them have been involved in talks with individual psychologists and reconciliation has been reached between 456 of them. In the first 6 months of 2020, 1 555 applications have been received, 910 people have been involved in talks with psychologists and reconciliation has been reached between 166 people.
