“The epidemiological tension is still observed in our country”, said Deputy Health minister Viktor Gasimov at the press conference held today by the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers, APA reports.
V. Gasimov said the number of diagnostic tests has increased in Azerbaijan: “The result of the tests also shows that the infection cases have decreased to some extent, almost no growth has been observed during recent two weeks. Meanwhile, over 60 percent of the people infected with coronavirus have recovered. Therefore, the quarantine regime can be reduced in a phased manner and finally can be abolished. For this purpose, relevant behavior rules should be applied. People should know how to protect themselves from infection. The state has fulfilled many duties falling on it. If citizens comply with behavior rules from now on, we can finalize our battle with this disease”.
The deputy health minister brought to notice that if in case of easing of the quarantine measures, the infection rate grows in any zone, the quarantine regime may be toughened again: “Some our regions have already cleared from this disease. The active foci have already been eliminated in 25 percent of the regions with registered coronavirus cases. And this was achieved as a result of joint efforts”.
