According to the results of the monitoring of the atmospheric air of Baku and Absheron peninsula conducted on March 9, 2020 by the specialists of the National Environmental Monitoring Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the dust and fog is observed in the air, and the quantity of dust exceeds the sanitary norm by 3-4 times, the press service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told APA.
The dusty weather condition is expected to be observed till the daytime hours on March 11.
According to the specialists’ opinion, the dusty fog on Absheron peninsula has developed from rising of dust to a higher stratum of the atmosphere as a result of the occasionally intensifying south-east wind and high level of the relative humidity.
