Azerbaijan has no problems with providing population’s demand for everyday goods, including food products, said Mikail Jabbarov, Minister of Economy, while answering a question in connection with the massive purchases observed in recent days in stores, APA reports.
M. Jabbarov noted that at present there is a sufficient supply of consumer goods, including food, in retail chains, stores and warehouses and that there is no reason for panic.
According to him, the issue of economic security is constantly in the spotlight of the Azerbaijani government: "Reserves for ensuring food security of the country are regularly monitored and evaluated. Currently, the restrictions applied to the borders of our country in connection with the threat of the coronavirus do not apply to cargo transportation."
Stressing that the government has all the tools to control the situation in the economic sphere, the minister said that the state will take additional support measures to increase local production.
