"Azerbaijan and Turkey show exemplary cooperation in fight against COVID-19 pandemic", said Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral in a live broadcast of APA TV.
The ambassador said COVID-19 is a global problem.
“The restrictions are applied in various countries of the world, the death toll increases. This virus spreads very rapidly. The global cooperation is required in the fight against pandemic. Azerbaijan and Turkey show exemplary cooperation in this fight.
Our Health ministers have been in contact since beginning of the pandemic. They have worked together in a coordinated way. The mutual closure of air border between the two countries was implemented after joint decision of the presidents. A brigade of doctors from Turkey has arrived in Azerbaijan.
Also a group of the Azerbaijani doctors consisting of 19 persons who receive medical education in Turkey has returned to the country", the ambassador said.
The ambassador added that Turkey has sent aid to 100 countries in the framework of fight against pandemic: “We have also sent 30 tons aid consisting of medical supplies to Azerbaijan. We know that Azerbaijan doesn’t need it, but this was a symbol of brotherhood and solidarity".
He said today, 7 researches regarding vaccine against COVID-19 are conducted in Turkey. One Azerbaijani doctor also participates on one of the researches.
