A number of media outlets and social networks spread information that police officer Mirsahib Kazimzade committed sexual acts against a minor Basti Jakhanova (different name instead of Ed), Lankaran District Prosecutor's Office told APA.
On the basis of an appeal in connection with the commission of sexual acts against a minor by M. Kazimzadeh, an officer of the security department of the Lankaran Police Department, at the Palıdlı Sahil hotel at about 23.00 on 26.08.2020, the district prosecutor's office conducted an investigation, and on 07.12.2020, a criminal case was initiated under Article 152.1 (having sex or committing other acts of a sexual nature with a person under the age of sixteen).
On September 30, 2020, Mirsahib Kazimzadeh was suspended from service in the internal affairs bodies for committing acts defaming the name of an employee of the internal affairs bodies.
On the basis of the evidence collected in the criminal case, on January 27, 2021, former police officer Mirsahib Kazimzadeh was charged under this article of the Criminal Code. By the decision of the district court, a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against him.
The preliminary investigation of the criminal case will be completed and sent to the court as soon as possible.
