The number of coronavirus infections topped 18 million globally after the United States, Brazil and Mexico reported fresh jumps in COVID-19 cases, the Worldometers' tally showed on Sunday, APA reports.
The United States registered 4,617,494 coronavirus cases since the outbreak started, marking a daily increase of 61,262 to remain the world's most COVID-19-affected country, followed by Brazil that added 45,392 infections on Saturday to raise the nation's total to 2,707,877. Mexico reported a record-high 9,556 daily infections to reach 434,193 total cases of the virus.
The death toll from COVID-19 exceeded 687,000 worldwide, while more than 11,300,000 people recovered from the disease globally.
