The number of people who contracted the coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic has surpassed 23 million on Friday, as the world continues to register a vast amount of positive cases with each new day, APA reports.
According to the Worldometers tally, almost 800,000 people in total died due to the COVID-19. Looking at the data, it seems the pandemic has come to a plateau as the spreading curve suggests the crisis' peak might soon be over.
Commenting on the situation, WHO's Director-General Tedros Adhanom recently estimated the pandemic will be over in less than two years from now.
