The number of COVID-19 infections registered globally grew by a record 721,756 during the last 24 hours, the data collected from the medical authorities worldwide revealed on Friday, APA reports citing Teletrader.

During the same time, the number of deaths attributed to the virus increased by 12,830 after having set a grim record the day before.

Since the pandemic started, more than 75 million people got infected with the coronavirus, with the global death toll now above 1.6 million. According to the data, the number of recoveries approached 53 million after the latest updates.
