Global daily COVID-19 deaths top 12,000 for first time

The number of registered coronavirus deaths climbed by 12,007 on November 25, data compiled from health authorities worldwide showed. The figure marks the largest daily rise in fatalities from the disease since the pandemic started, APA reports citing Teletrader.

The total death toll from COVID-19 now stands at 1,426,823. The United States remains the most affected country with nearly 260,000 fatalities, followed by Brazil and India with around 170,000 and 135,000 deaths from the virus, respectively.

Meanwhile, the daily rise in newly registered coronavirus infections stood at 609,207, bringing the total number of cases confirmed since the start of the pandemic to 60.7 million.
