Last year 83 tons of dangerous food products removed from circulation, 20 criminal cases opened

"The import control stations will be established at near-border territories in order to prevent animal diseases and plant pests", said Goshgar Tahmazli, Chairman of Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency at the press conference dedicated to outcomes of 2019, APA reports.

He said during 2019, 10 cases of refusal of import of hazelnut products by the European Union were recorded: "And from 2017 till July 2018 the number of such refusal cases equaled to 36. Besides, during the last year 45 operations have been conducted jointly by the Ministry of Interior Affairs and the Chief Prosecutor’s Office, 83 tons of dangerous food products were detected, and their entry into circulation was prevented, and 20 criminal trials were opened".
