The insured length of service for the persons whose employment contract was terminated on the grounds of liquidation of state agency or entity, reduction of number of employees or personnel is being decreased from three years to one year, APA reports.
This has found its reflection in the change proposed for the draft law “about making change in the law “About insurance against unemployment”” that will be brought up for discussion at the meeting of the Labor and social policy committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament that will be held today.
Based on the change, the able-bodied persons having the insured length of service less than 12 months but at least equal to one year during 24 calendar months prior to commencement of the unemployment shall be paid money in the amount of the minimum insurance payment envisaged in this law.
Based on the law, the minimum insurance payment is equated with the amount of the minimum monthly salary determined by relevant executive power agency.
This document has been drawn up in order to strengthen social protection of unemployed persons and to expand scope of the system of insurance against unemployment.
About 20 changes to 9 laws are proposed in the draft law.
The draft law was put to vote at the committee and was recommended for the plenary meeting of the Azerbaijani Parliament that will be held tomorrow.
