Melahat Ibrahimgizi: “COVAX, which has not fulfilled its obligations to Azerbaijan, undermines credence in this platform”

“COVAX platform does not fulfill its obligations to Azerbaijan. Within the framework of COVAX, the first batch of vaccines was to be delivered to Azerbaijan in the first quarter of this year. However, within the framework of COVAX vaccine has not been presented to Azerbaijan yet. In addition, recently, COVAX said to Azerbaijan that less vaccines will be given than promised. Even the date of delivery of vaccines is uncertain. It is unacceptable,” said the member of Health Committee of Milli Majlis Melahat Ibrahimgizi in her interview with APA while responding to the question “How does COVAX approach its commitments to Azerbaijan?”

According to her, the first batch of vaccines have already been delivered to friendly Georgia by COVAX: “COVAX, which allows double standards, a non-serious approach in relation to Azerbaijan, which has mobilized global efforts to fight the pandemic has provided assistance to 30 countries, and has donated $ 10 million to the World Health Organization twice, $ 5 million each to combat COVID-19, and not fulfilling its obligations, undermines the credibility of this platform.”
