Ministry: Pardoned persons placed in one of recreation centers for two weeks

“The necessary preventative measures have been determined under leadership of the country’s President Ilham Aliyev in order to protect people’s health and to prevent the threat that could be caused by the global pandemic in connection with the worldwide spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, a special quarantine regime has been announced for this purpose, and special attention has been paid to social isolation of citizens aged over 65 who are more likely to be infected with this virus”, the Ministry of Justice told APA.
It was noted that in the framework of the taken measures, based on the Pardon Decree of the country’s President dated 06.04.2020, 176 people aged over 65 have been released from the non-served part of their prison sentence.
Based on the information provided by the Operative Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers, taking into consideration that the spread of the pandemic is observed in various regions of our country and the places of residence of the pardoned people covers up to 40 regions of the country, before their return to their family members, the health condition of their family members will also be examined. Therefore, the released persons have been be placed in one of the recreation centers for two weeks and provided with every conditions including food and medical services and supplies.
