Mold fungi found in walnut kernels imported from Ukraine to Azerbaijan

The control measures on the food products imported to the country are being continued by the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (FSA), the Agency told APA.

24 tons walnut kernels which are produced by Oil Trade 2000 LLC operating in the Republic of Ukraine and imported to the Republic of Azerbaijan by physical person Ibrahimov Uzeyir Ibrahim oglu, have been inspected by the Agency inspectors. During inspection, the taken samples have been presented to the relevant laboratory of the Azerbaijan Institute of Food Safety. According to the inspection, the mold fungi has been found in the walnut kernels, and this shows that the products do not fit to the requirements of technical normative legal acts.

The Agency has made a decision that the products are unfit for the consumption, and the sale of that product batch were not allowed. Currently, the relevant measures are being conducted in accordance with the requirements of legislation.
