New military unit of SBS launched on border with Armenia

On March 12, State Border Service’s new military unit - border commandant's office started its service combat activity in the territory of Zangilan region, in the border with Armenia, State Border Service told APA.

Deputy Chief of the State Border Service, Lieutenant-General  Ilham Mehdiyev delivering a speech at the event organized regarding this noted that the territorial sovereignty of our country has been restored as a result of the “Iron Fist” operation implemented under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, it was put an end to the occupation of 20 percent of the country's territory, including 132 km of the state border with Iran and 500 km of the state border with Armenia, which has been a major threat to our national and border security for nearly 30 years, and the Patriotic War has been ended with the glorious victory of Azerbaijan over Armenia.
